Home Remodeling Trends for 2020

A new year is just around the corner! It’s time to start thinking about what trends are in store for 2020…

These new trends include using more raw materials, carpet flooring, marble, and incorporating nature in the home by using both artwork and plants. This list of materials, textures, and colors will help bring your home into the future for the upcoming year.

Raw Materials

Raw materials convey a rustic feel throughout your entire home. These materials are often identified as solid wood, hemp, terracotta, and bamboo to name a few. The design pieces that are becoming popular in the Pacific Northwest are heavily inspired by a minimalist feel and open concepts. They are simple pieces made from simple materials that make your home feel comfortable, open, bright and welcoming.

Color Pop Cabinets

The kitchen is a place of living. From waking up with that first cup of coffee, to finish off after dinner and spending time with family in between. So why not make it fun and inspiring. In 2020 we will see more people experimenting in this space using none other than exciting paint schemes and color pops to their cabinets. A good pop of color in your kitchen, especially with cabinets, can really energize the room and make things feel fresh, clean, and updated.

Carpet Flooring

Yep, carpet flooring is not going anywhere. The carpet trend was everywhere during the 1970s and it’s making a huge comeback to today. Carpet is a soft and cozy way to jazz up any room. It comes in all types of colors and designs that you can draw inspiration from for design elements in your home. It’s not a trend that everyone will want to try, but some are saying “see ya later” to their old floors and changing them to carpet flooring. Check out our carpet styles from some popular manufacturers.

Nature

Indoor plants and pieces of art that replicate natural scenery are the next big design staples coming next year. As summer turns to fall and then winter, most people want to remember the warm weather. Having an indoor garden keeps summer going strong throughout the rest of the year.

Some people like the thought of having tons of plants in their home, but can’t seem to keep them alive. Purchasing fake plants will combine your love for plants with the easiness of caring for one of these accessories. Plants can help improve your mood, help you relax and motivate you to do more, which is why they’re such a huge trend for the upcoming new year.
